The Magellan Roadmate 1700 is another great addition to the Magellan series of GPS systems. This is by far, the best GPS system introduced by the company, and easily one of the best ones on the market today. Apart from the many great features it contains, it excels when it comes to touch screen response, and the easy portability simply astounded us. Magellan Roadmate 1700: Our Review

The first thing we would like to point out about the Magellan is its thin design- though we are talking about the full 7 inch version, don’t let the screen fool you! This GPS might have a big display ( slightly larger then the Magellan Maestro 4700, or Magellan Roadmate 5045) it is thinner then most of the GPS out there- which of course, highly increases its portability. Whoever purchases the GPS also gets a great 1 year waranty: any problems, and refund for a full price! (And also note: our experiences rate Magellan the easiest to deal with when it comes to refunds- Tomtom having the lowest customer service).

It is PERFECT for SUV’s or larger cars- and the bigger screen can easily help you see even from further away. The icons can also be adjusted to be changed in size, and especially for the elderly, this can be a big safety bonus. The response is better then ever- even the slightest touch can easily be used to properly push options in the GPS.

In Conclusion, the Magellan Roadmate 1700 is the biggest bad boy out there- if you are looking for a big , easy to manage and view GPS system, then this is a “must-check-out” sort of thing. It is especially suited for older people, and bigger cars, and of course, comes with all the great features provided by the Magellan Company. Our rating: 4.7/5- the highest rating given to any Mangellan GPS system. There are still small loading delays, and this GPS is only slightly less durable then others. However, apart from that, the Magellan Roadmate 1700 is really cool, and enjoyable gadget.
