Boom. Here’s the Garmin Nuvi 1450 LMT. Like always, Garmin has delivered an outstanding device packed with features. It is an update from the previous 1390 and is sold at an amazing price for such a great device. On top of that, with the Lifetime Map & Traffic updates, you’ll never be lost or stuck in traffic again. Finally, the huge 5 inch viewing screen is a great edition and it comes loaded with features such as multiple-point routing, lane assist with junction view to guide you through busy highway interchanges, pedestrian routing options and ecoRoute to find the most fuel-efficient route.

Our Review of the Garmin Nuvi 1450 LMT

As soon as we got in the car with this baby, we realized it’s large 5 inch screen is extremley helpful. The screen is a backlit TFT color touchscreen display with 480 x 272 WQVGA pixel resolution. We set the brightness at a mere 60% and everything was easily readable even with the sun directly on us, which sets it apart from most standard GPS systems.  You can view map detail, driving directions, photos and more in bright, brilliant color. Therefore, it is especially recommended for people with eye sores/ problems.

This device is extremely user- friendly. When turned on, you’re greeted with Garmin’s usual “Where To?” and “View Map”.  This of course, enables you to quickly set a destination and get their without wasting time. Just like all standard GPS systems, the Garmin Nuvi 1450 is easy to handle, durable, and delivers the Garmin name, just like older models. (Look at: Garmin Nuvi 1350, and 1390)

Lane assist with junction view is an amazing feature. It  guides you to the correct lane for an approaching turn or exit or in intersections and is great if thier has been an accident on the road and you need to get around the traffic. It is extremely easy to navigate with.

The Garmin Nüvi 1450LMT includes advanced navigation features and with route planning you can save 10 routes, so just get in the car, and touch “Office”, and you’re there.

With the Garmin Nuvi 1450 LMT’s enhanced user interface, you can slide your finger to conveniently scroll between screens. You can also upload custom POIs (like “Grandma’s House” ) . And with HotFix satellite prediction, Nüvi calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.

So here are the Pros and Cons

Pros:

Cons:

When updating the process is easy, but takes a lot of time.
Sometimes recalculates route to avoid traffic when there isn’t even much traffic. ( You can change this though).

Here’s a more exact review of the GPS- this is a new specific rating system we are hoping, and since this is a fairly popular GPS system, I thought it would be a good idea to use it.

Overall, this GPS gets a 4.6/5

It still needs some work, but its an amazing device.  The Garmin Nuvi 1450 LMT is a great addition to the Garmin family. And it makes traveling a lot easier. Especially for long trips.
